I’ve always been dubious about running. It looks like a form of punishment when you see others engaged in it. However, I recently made a friend who is an athlete and thanks to her, most days I am now either in the gym, or on the pavement near our local stream. Often I find myself thinking “Why are you willingly doing this to yourself?” And then my body is flooded by hormones that make it believe it can fly. If I just concentrate hard enough -maybe I can take off.
